Class 7 2019 - 2020
Welcome to Class 7
There are six pupils in our group. The class is supported by two Teaching Assistants – Marie and Suzanne. The two teachers are Katherine Moss and Jo Evans
Kathryn will teach Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Jo will teach Thursday and Friday
Our topic for Spring 1 is: Me, myself and family.
In English our aim is to enable our pupils to engage with all stories, characters and themes we will be looking at the sensory story Peter Pan by JM Barrie. We will also look at a second sensory story called Beauty Sleep. In maths we are going to focus on time and number and incorporate songs, visual aids and stories to aid learning. The children will be supported in accessing their sensory diets throughout the day to help support their learning. Cross-curricular links will be made to ensure that learning is purposeful. TACPAC, relaxation, interaction and sensory sessions will be taught weekly and daily phonics and communication lessons are also built into the timetable.
Me, my home and family:
During the Spring term 1 we will be carrying out activities related to the theme Me, my home and family on our school Creative Curriculum and also exploring aspects of the EQUALS Semi-Formal curriculum which the school has purchased this year. Our aim is to develop our skills in Communication, problem Solving, Art and Music through this one topic. In Geography we will be looking at Water + the Water Cycle. In Art our artist focus is Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’
Thank you for your ongoing support. We will be regularly updating our page with curriculum news, information and photographs.
