SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR CLASS 5
WELLBEING for the WHOLE FAMILY
From this week, and lasting over the Summer hols, I'd like you all to engage in one WELLBEING activity with your child (and the whole family) each day.
There are lots of definitions of well-being, but in essence it is about a healthy body, a healthy mind and healthy relationships. The activities I am asking you to engage with fall into 5 categories; the key markers promoting well-being.
- *Feel connected
- *Be active
- *Learn new skills
- *Give to others
- *Take notice – be mindful
You can then send me updates and photographs (if you want to) of your wellbeing time in your weekly email update to me, which will carry on until September!
Have a go and let me how you get on and if you notice any positive changes, not only in your child, but the whole family?
Happy Summer Wellbeing!
Below is a PowerPoint presentation that provides you with a vast array of activities for each of the 5 categories.
Please choose one activity to do each day, so your week might look like this:
Monday: Feel connected activity- create a piece of art with your family.
Tuesday: Be active- hold a family sports day: egg and spoon race, sack race, bean bag-throwing…
Wednesday: Learn new skills- create a collage with items collected on a nature walk. Thursday: Give to others activity- give your bedroom a spring clean.
Friday: Take notice- Lie in the garden and look up at the clouds.
