Class 6 2022 - 2023
Mrs Kelly Strickland
Welcome back to another busy school year. The whole team are looking forward to the coming year and can’t wait to build some great relationships with you and your child.
Our topic this half term will be ‘Things I can hear’, exploring different sounds in our environment, through various activities. Time will be spent out in the school grounds, carrying out listening walks and learning all about the noises they hear. The theme will continue throughout our Music and PE lessons, with an emphasis on music and dance from around the world. In PSHE we will be looking at people who are special to us and why. We will begin by identifying family members, before moving on to anyone else who may be special, such as friends, carers, teachers, etc. Julie will be joining class 6 on Fridays to deliver forest schools.
Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school for our Wednesday sessions and a spare set of clothes and waterproof coat/wellies, so we are always prepared for whatever the weather! Please provide snacks and/or lunch – ordering with the office if needed. Finally, please ensure your child has a water bottle or drink every day and remember to check emails for updates and messages.
As usual I will continue to update you daily on your child’s day and progress. Please let us know of any significant changes or useful information that will help us in caring for your child, as well as sharing what your child has done at home.
All the staff in class 6 are happy to answer any questions or queries you may have and will support you as best we can. Thank you!
Kelly (class teacher) and our lovely teaching assistants: Marie, Mia, and Emma.
