Class 3 2023 - 2024

Welcome back to the Spring term 2024 

Our topic this half term is ‘Out of this world’. In our English and Communication Sessions we will be reading ‘Whatever next?’ by Jill Murphy all about a little bear who wants to go to the moon in a cardboard box! We will have lots of space linked activities, tuff trays as well as working on our targets and workboxes. We might even try and build our very own rocket! 

Our Maths topic this term is all about measurements; big and small, heavy and light, long and short using lots of fun and messy ways to learn and explore whilst also working on our number targets. 

We will be looking at the moon landings, creating our own space art and moving our bodies to different Space themed music. We also have a fun trip planned to the Space cinema too. 

Key information 

• PE - Takes place on a Wednesday afternoon, please make sure the children have a PE kit in school for our session. 
• A spare set of clothes including socks and underwear/waterproof coat/wellies, so we are always prepared for whatever the weather brings us. 
• Snacks and/or lunch – Please make sure you have ordered a school lunch if appropriate. 
• Please let us know if there are any issues or useful information that will help us to care for your child via email the class 3 email (class3@hillside.lancs.sch.uk) or phone call.  
• Check your email each day for up to date messages and information about your child.
