“Welcome to our page!”
Class 9 have had a fantastic Autumn term to start the year, everyone has settled well into their new class. It is brilliant to see the boys building up relationships with each other, as well as our class staff team! We’ve enjoyed lots of fun themed days, including Forest Schools jungle themed day, Halloween and our farming topic in English. The boys have been cooking up a storm in food technology, looking at different easy snack foods then moving on to foods from cultures around the world. We’ve had lots of fun in the run up to Christmas! We ended the term with plenty of Christmas activities including our end of term trip to the cinema to watch ‘The Incredibles 2’ followed by McDonalds.
We’ve got lots of fun and exciting topics to look forwards to in the new year. In English we will be learning about War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, and all about WW1. Our Maths topic for measurement will be capacity, with plenty of practical and fun measuring activities planned. The Creative Curriculum this half term will include History, Food Technology, Art and Music lessons based on 1950’s to the current day. We will also be continuing our weekly shopping trip to Morrison’s at Preston Docks on a Thursday morning – this term we are hoping to extend the skills we have been learning by ordering and paying for a drink by ourselves in the café as well as our shopping.
In the spring term we will be starting Forest Schools (day to be confirmed), as well as swimming on a Tuesday morning – please remember to send in your child’s swimming kit weekly.
Please continue to read your child’s chat book daily as we update it with important information about your child’s progress. Please remember to let us know if there is anything that may impact upon your child’s day at school, either through the chat book or by giving us a call.
Thank you for your continued support,
James & Michelle
