This dedicated information advice and support service is for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families.

The service is impartial, confidential, and free. It can help you to gather, understand and interpret information and apply it to your own situation.

Children and young people can also access the service independently from their parents. We can provide support around:

- Personalisation and personal budgets

How we can help you We can:
- Discuss your concerns about special educational needs or disabilities (SEND)
- Explain SEND policies and procedures in Lancashire
- Assist you with SEND paperwork
- Liaise between you, your nursery, school or college and other professionals
- Support you with relevant meetings
- Signpost you to other sources of support about SEND

We can also provide advice through parent carer support groups, local SEN youth forums or local disability groups and training events.

Transport Information
SEN officers will decide whether your child gets free travel to school, using the information submitted during their statutory assessment. They will let transport staff know what type of support your child needs so they can provide the right type of vehicle, the correct safety belt/harness in the vehicle and the level of supervision/care for their journey. Transport arrangements will be kept under review. You may be entitled to claim mileage if you choose to transport your child to and from school in your own vehicle.

Parents are requested to have their child ready for when the transport arrives. Any difficulties or issues related to the transporting of pupils should be directed to Special Needs Transport Team at County Hall or your local authority. It is very important that as a parent you keep contact information of your assigned taxi/bus company and your assigned Passenger Assistant. Please ask the individuals concerned for this information as soon as they are assigned to you.

If you have any problems with transport that your Passenger Assistant or taxi driver/company are not able to help with, please see supervisory contacts below:
